Description
Long brown glutinous rice is a type of rice that becomes sticky when cooked. An excellent option mainly for the preparation of desserts. Glutinous does not mean it contains gluten, so it is suitable for people intolerant to gluten.
Indication
It contains "Amylopectin" which is responsible for that glutinous and sticky quality.
This rice, rich in amylopectin, has a greater ability to absorb the flavor after cooking.
It is a good source of carbohydrates and proteins.
It contains vitamins B1, B3, A, C, D and folic acid.
It also contains minerals like phosphorus, magnesium, and potassium.
Intake mode
It is recommended to soak for at least 4 hours and then boil or steam.
Black glutinous rice is used mainly in desserts, such as rice pudding. In Asia, a sweet snack is typical, with coconut milk and sugar.
Storage conditions
Store at room temperature protected from the sun. Average life of 20 months, as long as the storage conditions are respected.
