Description

Alga Agar Agar in Strips from Porto Muiños is the jelly of the sea. It is used as a thickener, stabilizer and gelling agent in: jams, jellies, juices, compotes, cakes, puddings, custards, ice cream, mayonnaise and other sauces. Noted for its high fiber content, it is rich in minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Intake mode

Hydration : To consume naturally in soups and salads. Immerse the agar agar fibers in warm water (50oC / 122oF). After 20 minutes it acquires a fibrous texture. At 2-3 hours gelatinous.

Firing : To be used as a gelling agent and / or thickener. Boil the agar agar fibers for 4 minutes while shaking to facilitate dissolution. Once dissolved, let it cool. Agar agar gelatin maintains its texture at room temperature.

  • Very soft texture 0.8 g / 500 ml (0.16%)
  • Soft texture 1.5 g / 500 ml (0.3%)
  • Hard texture 5 g / 500 ml (1%)
  • Very hard texture 7 g / 500 ml (1.4%)

Precautions

This product is suitable for the general public, except : infants and young children.

Storage conditions

Store hermetically in a cool, dry place at temperatures between 2 and 30ºC. Keep away from any source of odor. Once opened, store in a dry place and consume before the best before date.
