Description
Agave Syrup Bio from Tierra Madre, is an ecological product of fair trade.
Indication
Agave syrup is the sweet vegetable juice that is extracted from the leaves of agave, a fleshy plant of South American origin, similar to the pita. It is a powerful sweetener, with a neutral flavor and a honey-like texture. Nutritionally it is quite similar to common sugar but agave syrup, being high in fructose and low in glucose, has a low glycemic index, that is, it does not cause such a drastic increase in the body's glucose levels as it causes it common sugar. Its composition is usually 70% fructose and 25% glucose. Despite its properties, we must not forget that it is a sweetener and, as such, it should be consumed in moderation, especially in the case of diabetics. Ideal for a dessert topping or to sweeten hot beverages, pastries and more.
