Description
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organically bonded form of sulfur. We also get sulfur through our food, but it is often lost in the cooking process. As age increases, the efficiency of sulfur metabolism may deteriorate and it becomes more important to maintain the amount of sulfur in the body.
Properties and benefits of MSM
The human body needs large amounts of macrominerals, such as sulfur, on a daily basis. MSM is a sulfur compound and helps to replenish sulfur levels in the body, for example in case few foods containing sulfur are consumed.
How to take MSM?
It is recommended to take 1 to 3 tablets daily during or immediately after food. The daily dose can be temporarily increased to 4 or more. Afterwards, it would be sufficient to continue with the maintenance dosage of 1 to 3 tablets per day. It is important to spread the MSM intake as much as possible throughout the day in order to obtain a balanced absorption. In high dosages it is recommended to increase the daily dose gradually. Occasionally you can notice the results of MSM after a few weeks. Gastrointestinal disorders (intestinal cramps, mild diarrhea) may appear at the beginning of the use of MSM. Spreading the MSM intake throughout the day or decreasing the dose (and gradually increasing it) generally remedies these symptoms. The same is recommended for typical disorders resulting from poor liver purification.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet.
