Description

Dr. Healthcare's Daohead is a food for special medical purposes used for the dietary management of migraine.

• 87% of patients with diagnosed migraine have reduced or greatly reduced activity of the DAO enzyme.
• Contains DAO ENZYME (Diamino Oxidase). It also contains vitamins B6, B9 and B12 and caffeine that act as aids in the dietary management of migraine.
• It acts by metabolizing the histamine ingested in the diet, preventing its accumulation in the blood and avoiding the appearance of migraines and headaches.
• Restores optimal levels of DAO activity thanks to its structural and functional equivalence with human DAO, preventing the absorption of histamine.

What is the DAO?

DAO is the main enzyme in the metabolism of ingested histamine. It is mainly located in the intestinal epithelium, an area where it degrades the histamine ingested in the diet, preventing its passage into the blood.

What is histamine?

Histamine is a vital molecule, a transmitter that belongs to the so-called biogenic amines and is naturally present in many foods as well as inside our cells. Normally, the intake of histamine contained in food does not cause any type of problem, since it is quickly processed and metabolized by the DAO enzyme.

What is DAO deficiency?

We speak of DAO deficiency in case of deficiency in the activity of the DAO enzyme or when there is an unbalanced ratio between the histamine ingested with food and the ability to metabolize it by said enzyme. Due to this, histamine is not sufficiently metabolized or degraded, passing into the bloodstream and triggering the different symptoms. The usual symptomatology when there is a DAO deficiency is: Migraine and other headaches. Although other symptoms may occur such as:

• digestive disorders
• Muscle aches and contractures.
• Dry or atopic skin.

How does DAOhead work?

DAOhead's DiAminoOxidase (DAO) complements the body's own enzyme, which is responsible for metabolizing histamine. Taking a DAOhead capsule before each meal increases the amount of DAO in the small intestine and thus the ability to break down histamine. This speeds up the processing of the histamine present in food in the digestive tube, which is the trigger for the symptoms.

How to take DAOhead?

The capsule should be swallowed whole with a little water 20 minutes before main meals (3 times a day).

If you cannot swallow the capsule whole, you can open it and take the tablets inside separately, swallowing them whole without chewing, splitting or breaking them. Vegetable capsule.

Storage conditions

DAOhead contains DAO, a thermolabile enzyme (sensitive to temperature), and it is advisable to keep it away from heat sources. If it is consumed according to the recommended dose of daily intake, it does not require special conservation, but if it is exceptionally consumed sporadically and stored for a long time, it is advisable to keep it in the refrigerator.
