Lactoferrin, natural protein obtained from fresh skimmed cow's milk (not whey). Mammals produce lactoferrin, a monomeric non-hemic iron-binding glycoprotein that is considered a primary defense factor and an essential component of innate immunity. The iron retention capacity of lactoferrin is related to inhibition of microbial growth, mucosal infections, modulation of motility, and biofilm formation of pathogenic bacteria. Regardless of its iron binding capacity, lactoferrin interacts with viral infectious processes, inhibiting viral adhesion and thus preventing its entry into host cells. Iron content less than 0.013% Vegetable capsule: HPMC (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose).
