Description
Oak has antidiarrheal properties (especially in case of chronic diarrhoea), astringent (also for external use), decongestant, febrifuge (its bark has been used for a long time, instead of quinine), antiseptic (especially at the level of mucous membranes). From the plant, the branches and bark of young trees are used in spring, since it contains above all tannins, ellagic acid, pectin, catechins and a bitter principle (kercine). It can be used as an adjuvant in: diarrhea, fever, leukorrhea, hematuria.
