Description
Myrtille Feuilles de L'Herbier de France is, says Pierre Fournier, the "myrtle of northern countries". Botanically, of course. Both shrubs have small thick leaves and edible blue berries. The first writings truly concerning the blueberry appear in Europe, in the 12th century, under the pen of Sainte Hildegarde. It is the friend of the urinary tract and mucous membranes in general.
Indication
Pliny and Dioscorides are said to have described the virtues of bilberry. How could they have described its medicinal properties, when the Greeks did not know this plant? The most likely answer is that they were referring to other plants, and that by reading them a few centuries later, the doctors were confused because of the name that had been given to our blueberry in the meantime, “little myrtle".
Ingredients
Bilberry leaf.
