Description
Peppermint Leaves from the Herbarium of France is one of the most famous of our medicinal plants. It also has culinary uses (tajines, peas, potatoes ...). The name "mint" comes from the Greek nymph Mintha. Hades, God of the underworld was in love with it. Persephone, jealous, transformed it into a small fragrant plant, which was called mint. Desperate, Hades traveled the countryside to see his lost love again.
Indication
Mint has been used since Antiquity in many Mediterranean and Eastern countries, Egypt, Greece, China. With us, it was the Druids who discovered its virtues. In particular, they installed many cultures of singles in the peat bogs and the marshy lands of the region of Milly-la-Forêt. The St Blaise chapel was built in the 12th century to house a leper colony where the sick crowded. It now hosts the National Conservatory of Perfume Plants
