Description
CFN's Guanaba (Graviola) features Graviola, a tree native to the Amazon rainforest and other tropical areas of America - where it is also known as Brazilian Cherimoya. All parts of the Graviola (Anona murciata) tree, fruit and seeds, contain antioxidants called anonácenes acetogenins, but the highest concentrations are in the leaves and seeds.
How to take Guanaba (Graviola)?
It is recommended to take according to professional recommendation.
Precautions
Some alkaloids present in the root, bark and seeds of soursop have been related to atypical forms
Parkinson's resistant to levodopa (the main substance used to reduce the symptoms of this condition).
This effect seems to be produced, according to some in vitro studies, by DNA damage and induction of
apoptosis or necrosis of dopaminergic cells and GABAergic neurons. Therefore, it should be avoided
excessive consumption of these parts of the plant.
Soursop has shown hypotensive, vasodilator and cardiodepressant activity in animal studies, therefore
It is contraindicated in people with low blood pressure. For the same effect, the consumption of
soursop can potentiate the effect of antihypertensive drugs and other drugs used in disorders
cardiac. It can also potentiate the effect of antidepressants and interfere with mao drugs (inhibitors of
monoamine oxidase enzyme).
There is some documentation on the uterostimulant activity of soursop in rats, so it should not be consumed during pregnancy. Among the most important and common side effects of soursop, nausea and vomiting can be mentioned, which usually appear in large doses.
