Melvita

Melvita is a French organic cosmetics brand founded in 1983 by the biologist and beekeeper Bernard Chevilliat. Melvita was born as a tribute to life and honey, one of the most precious products of bees and much loved and deeply known by Chevilliat.

In fact, it is said that without bees the world would end because there would be no more flowers, fruit and beauty. In more than 30 years Melvita has gone from being a small company with 500 beehives and four collaborators with a lot of passion to a company with over 250 employees and a production site in Lagorce with a low environmental impact of over 20 thousand meters. From the first and iconic hexagonal soap, we have also gone on to produce creams, shampoos and bath products of all kinds with the addition of other natural ingredients such as floral waters or plant oils. Although the years have passed, the philosophy has never changed: to create products that not only take care of human health, but are also sustainable for the environment. Melvita has in fact held the ECOCERT recognition since 2002 and is committed to collaborating with organic production and fair trade companies; it has reduced its water and energy use and its waste with a highly efficient plant, as well as using recycled or recyclable packaging.
