Psyllium has been cultivated in northwestern India and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. The husk of psyllium seeds is almost exclusively composed of hemi-cellulose that acts as a sponge in the intestine, gives consistency to the stool, stimulates peristalsis. The mucilage and fiber of the Psyllium can, in case of constipation, allow the stool to slide. It is an excellent non-caloric source of soluble fiber (eight times better than oat bran).

Intake mode

It is recommended diluted in water.

Precautions

Intestinal or esophageal stricture, or any other type of suspected or actual gastrointestinal obstruction. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
Swallowing difficulties
Presence of a fecaloma (mass of hardened stools that cannot be evacuated)
Nausea, vomiting, fever, or abdominal pain, see your doctor.
Blood in the stool without its presence having been diagnosed and explained.
