What is DAO shortfall?

DAO deficiency is defined as an alteration in the metabolism of dietary histamine that appears when there is little diamine oxidase (DAO) activity.

Histamine is a vital molecule that is present in all foods in the daily diet and is the mediator of many biological processes. If the DAO enzyme is reduced, ingested histamine cannot be broken down and passes through the intestinal mucosa into the circulation causing symptoms to appear.

DAO provides the exogenous DAO intake necessary to restore histamine metabolism and help prevent symptoms.

DAO is suitable for people with diabetes, celiac disease and/or food intolerance. In addition, it has no side effects and is recommended for long-term diets and chronic conditions related to DAO deficiency.

The tablets have a gastro-resistant coating, so the DAO enzyme is not released in the stomach, but is released in a delayed manner in the small intestine, where it will perform its function.

How to take DAO?

Take one tablet with a little water 20 minutes before main meals (3 times a day).
