Description

DAOfood is a food for special medical purposes that is used for the dietary management of Diamine Oxidase (DAO) enzyme deficiency when the predominant symptoms are digestive and also dermatological: atopic skin and dry skin, and for the dietary management of generalized muscular discomfort.

How does DAOfood work?

Histamine is a vital molecule that is present in all foods of the daily diet and is the mediator of many biological processes. Under normal conditions, ingested histamine is broken down by the enzyme DiAminoOxidase (DAO) in the small intestine.

If the DAO enzyme is reduced, the ingested histamine cannot be broken down and passes through the intestinal mucosa into the circulation, causing the onset of symptoms.

DAOfood provides the necessary exogenous DAO intake to restore histamine metabolism, preventing the onset of symptoms.

How to take DAOfood pack with dispenser?

Take one tablet with a little water 20 minutes before the main meals (3 times a day). DAOfood® tablets have a gastro-resistant coating that allows the Diaminooxidase enzyme not to be released in the stomach, but rather in a delayed manner in the small intestine, which is where the histamine ingested in the diet is broken down. Therefore the tablets should be taken whole, without chewing or breaking or breaking before ingestion.
