Properties and benefits of Milk Thistle Herb

Milk Thistle contains a mixture of substances known together as Silymarin, with clear beneficial effects on health. It stands out mainly as a hepatoprotector, acting directly on liver cells, protecting them and repairing the effect that toxic substances may have caused on them.

Its antioxidant effect also has a clear affinity for liver cells. It also regulates blood flow to the liver and promotes the production and secretion of bile. It is very useful, alone or in combination with other hepatoprotectors, for the treatment of specific problems and in seasonal purification, but above all it is highly recommended for regular consumption in chronic liver problems.

Milk Thistle also has applications as a mild diuretic (contributing to the detoxification process) and, in the circulatory system, to treat hemorrhages and capillary disorders.

How to take Milk Thistle Herb?

Solgar recommends taking 1 vegetable capsule daily, preferably with a meal.

Standardized extract of milk thistle seed

(Silybum marianum) pulverized 175 mg

(140 mg [80%] flavonoids including silymarin)

Glazing agent: hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Bulking agent: microcrystalline cellulose, Anti-caking agent: magnesium stearate, Antioxidant: pulverized mixture* of beta-carotene and ascorbic acid.
